AhlulBayt News Agency: American sprinter Fred Kerley has officially embraced Islam, sharing a video of his conversion on Instagram.
The 30-year-old Olympic and World Championship medalist was seen declaring the shahada—the Islamic testimony of faith—inside a mosque.
Kerley posted a video capturing the emotional moment and wrote in the caption: “They tried to break me, Allah rebuilt me. Took my shahada today. I'm chosen. I'm covered. I'm home.”
Kerley has enjoyed a stellar track career, earning three golds, one silver, and one bronze at the World Championships. He also claimed silver in the 100 meters at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and bronze in the same event at Paris 2024.
